COSTLY BULLYING

A bully is an aggressive person who intimidates or mistreats weaker people. You may be as “innocent” as enjoying a joke at the expense of another person or involve the use of violence and force. A bully has a low self-esteem. Oh, how many vises hide in the bosom
of this single evil? Selfishness, greed, cruelty, insensitivity, sadism all product of human depravity!

Are you a bully? Do you take advantage of others? Do you amuse yourself by cutting others down? The weaker person may be a beggar on the street, a classmate suffering a deformity of or other impediments. What the children did in our text did is worse than bullying. Elisha was an elderly gentleman, a respected prophet in that country, yet those children took pleasure in mocking him! The repercussion was tragic, they lost their lives.

Did you ever bully someone? You must seek forgiveness first from God, and then from your victim. Do so today, start now.

Challenge: A great man shows his greatness by the way he treats the little men – Thomas Carlyle

Prayer: Lord, forgive me my acts of cruelty against others.
