STORY SERIES
…goal bird. You’ll go to prison again for it has become your home.”

“This time, three of us will go together,” laughed the man.

They pilled at the gown as the struggled. Then came the sound of the gown tearing.
“You’ll tear my gown?” the man shouted. He began to beat the women and they beat him back. Eta and Tesa started to shout for help at the top of their voices.

Eta ran to the door and tried to open it. The man held her and flung her back into the far corner of the room. She got up and joined Tesa in shouting.

Someone was banging at the door. The banging became harder. “Open the door at once, whoever is in there,” a voice cried.

“That is the police said the man.”You are going to goal and you’ll look beautiful in the prison uniform.” “Open the door, I say,” the voice ordered.

The man inside opened the door slightly while the women moved back into the corner. But it was not the police it was just a man.

“What do you want here?” asked the man inside. “What business do you have with us? You better go away or you’ll be sorry.
“What are you doing to the little girls inside there?” asked the man. I think I know the voice of one of them. She sounds like my daughter.”
“Daddy, it is me, Eta,” she shouted. “They are going to kill us. Call the police.”
At the same time the man outside shouted “Police! Police! Help! Help! Is a murder being committed here!

The man inside took out a dagger from somewhere. He pushed the door open, waving the dagger. Eta’s father stood in his way.
“Give way!” the thief shouted.

He stabbed Eta’s father on the arms, on the head and on the chest. Still Eta’s father did not give way. He was bleeding. The thief pushed him away strongly and ran. There was blood on his dress, the people who had come out of their homes on hearing the cry saw him and ran after him.

The two women in the room also tried to escape but though he was losing blood, Eta’s father held on to them. They bit him with their teeth but he would not let them off until they were taken from him by the people who had come to help.

Eta’s father looked at the two women and recognized them.
“So it’s you, Doja Rafa, “he said. “What were you going to do with my daughter?”
They gave him no answer…to be continued on Saturday.
