… Prosperous, as she had desired. She enjoyed the sensation her presence caused everywhere. Her beauty and shapeliness dazzled everyone. She was always gorgeously attired and adorned with glittering trinkets. Her wealth won her the respect, admiration and awe of many. She enjoyed life, as she wanted it.

In the company of Awelewa, Omolafeaye sometimes looked drab and felt uncomfortable. Occasionally, occasionally she wished that she could be a little more materially well off than she was. Awelewa began to feel special and soon grew arrogant, overbearing and even, patronizing. These attitudes so hurt Omolafeaye feelings that one-day she accused “You behave as if you are the only one Olodumare has been generous to with his gifts! He has blessed us all in different ways you know” And she determined to prove it to Awelewa.

When the town’s annual festival came round, Omolafeaye and Awelewa joined other women in celebration. There was singing and dancing. Awelewa was splendidly attired and was the admiration of all. When the drummers started drumming and the dancers begun to take the floor, Omolafeaye entered the dance floor and struck up a song inviting each woman taking the floor to join in her song:

“Omoniyi, Omoleye, children are our pride, children are our joy. Awero, do tell us are you a mother?”

Awero promptly responded, “Omolafeaye, I am the proud mother of two children - two lovely boys - Ibukun and Ayodele,” and she took happy steps on the dance floor.

“Omoniyi, Omoleye, Ibadiaran, how about you? Tell us about your children,” Omolafeaye requested.

“Omolafeaye, I am the mother of four beautiful children, Olaitan, Akinwunmi, Omoyemi and Oladipo, my pride and joy!” and she dance around joyfully.
