AN IMPROMPTU VISIT TO THE CDA1 OFFICE

Today September 13th 3013 at about 1:15 pm. A call was given to Kirikiri town by the Councilor of Kirikiri town, Honorable Abari Ibrahim Ajibola to meet with the Youth president of Community Development Area 1, Comrade Sani Abari. The comrade’ CDA oversees Cardoso street, Johnson street, Johnson close Akere
street, Agunbiade street, Akere close, Johnson close, Airport road, Creek view estate and Abiola Johnson crescent. The call was made based on the previous post concerning the new Akere bore hole in order to shed more light on its construction. There are three CDA’s in Kirikiri town.

Comrade Sani Abari who is the institutor of the project says it is a project meant for the general public, residents of Kirikiri town, workers, shop owners, and friends of the town in fact the term used in the story of the tortoise when he went to the heavens and was asked by the chief of the birds, “What is your name?” the tortoise answered “EVERYBODY”. Must be applied in this case. Now back to the story, “Who is the bore hole for?” “EVERYBODY”.

Comrade Sani Abari and Honorable Abari Ibrahim Ajibola emphasized mainly out of love for the community that they are ordinary servants of Kirikiri town, they try their best to make sure basic amenities and needs of Kirikiri town are met and most at times it sucks up their pocket because there is little or no special allocation of funds for such projects from the higher authorities above them.  We understood that every petition or memo or memorandum or letter or voice notes even spoken words of development projects like roads, water, water and so on needs to be approved and implemented by the local government. Does it mean that Kirikiri town is not on the local Governments’ mind? Of course it is on their mind. As learned individuals we have become, support is better that complain as criticizing will never cease just like Satan will never stop tempting man.

The borehole facility after it’s finally construction will run for 24 hours daily. Questions like what if NEPA or PHCN doesn’t provide electrical supply for 3 months is “old skool” as we were made to understand that there will be constant alternate electric power supply as soon as the youth center which is going to be constructed on that same street is completed but until they provisions of power from the neighboring shops will be used to power the facility. In the absence of general power, alternate power supply coming from the youth center will power the borehole facility for 24 hours and a people will be stationed there for duty. What a bright plan mapped out indeed.

After much dialoging we came to an understanding that it is necessary we support anyone who has the heart of the people at hand because “the more you encourage the more whoever that is doing continues to do”.

Our motto still remains upgrading standard.
