BELLS

Bells come on many sizes for many uses. Some large bells are famous, such as Big Ben IN the clock tower of the House of Parliament in London, the Liberty Bell in State House, Philadelphia, and the largest in the world, the Kolokol in Moscow, which weighs 193 tons.
Church bells summon people to services. Teams of ringers meet to ring changes on church bells. The teams ring the bells in various sequences, an art called campanology. Changes can also be rung on hand bells, and tunes can be played on them. The ‘bells’ in symphony orchestras are in fact metal tubes struck by mallets.
