OH LIFE "I MUST SURVIVE" (EPISODE EIGHTEEN)

STORY SERIES
Meanwhile the thief had been caught by some men and handed over to two policemen who had been called. The policemen held him as they came to the house where Tesa and Eta had been held. When Doja and Rafa saw the policemen they fled and tried to get away.
By now Eta’s father had lost much blood. He looked weak. When the policemen were trying to examine his wounds he fainted. They put him in a taxi and one policeman took him to the hospital.

The other policeman put the two women, the thief and Tesa into a taxi and drove to the police station. They were all detained there. Eta ran as fast as her legs could carry her and soon she reached home. When she was a few yards from her house she started to shout, “Mummy! Mummy! I have seen Daddy,”

Adia who had become tired and very unhappy after searching all day for Tesa was resting in a chair when she heard eta’s voice.

She jumped and ran to the door. She collided with eta and held her tight.

“Mummy, I have seen Daddy,” Eta still shouted. She was breathing hard.

“Where! Where have you seen Daddy?” her mother asked. “Where is Tesa? Tell me, where is Tesa?” Adia was more interested in Tesa than in Daddy. Furthermore, she didn’t seem to believe Eta. She had given up seeing her husband. She had given him up for good.

“Tesa! Tesa!” answered Eta still breathing hard. “The police have held her.”

Adia did not listen anymore. She dragged Eta out, called a taxi and said to the driver, “police-station”

But there were many police-stations in the big city.

There was no trace of Tesa in the first police station they visited. The officer was however kind. He gave Adia a seat and a telephone various police-stations one after the other. The fourth police station answered that a girl, two women and a man with blood on his dress had just been brought in. Adia called another taxi which took them to the police station where Tesa was. When she saw Tesa sitting behind the counter Adia went wild with joy.

The policemen on duty allowed Tesa to run out. She jumped up and was held there by Adia. Tesa cried with joy. Eta joined her in crying.

“It is all right, my dear,” said Adia. “It is all over now, we’ll soon go home and we’ll soon forget it”

Adia looked up and in the far corner behind the counter she saw Doja and Rafa, her neighbors in the market. They were trying to hide their faces.

“Ah! Doja! So it is you,” Adia said “what wrong have we done to you? What were you going to do to this poor girl?”…to be continued on Tuesday.
