There are about seven oil depots aka tank farms in Kirikiri town: Techno oil, Swift oil, Bovas, Fatgbems, Index Petrolube Africa and others which are still under construction. These oil depots sell petroleum products such as PMS, AGO and DPK and they are out of
stock.
This unforeseen situation shocked the whole neighborhood when they didn't find the regular tanker traffic that the tankers usually cause on the link bridge and the streets. Sources say that products coming from other countries faced turbulent waters on the high sea and it will take about a month before they arrive.
Residents are joyous on the recent development as they breathe fresh air but at midnight tankers are often seen loading ‘black market AGO’ from a nearby depot. This depot loads the tankers directly from a docked boat.
Despite the tank farms being out of product, business still continues. The CDA, Navy will have some break and the NUPENG staff will also observe the break, lastly residents will breathe in oxygen and not dust.
