DESERTED LOW DECK CAUSES COMMOTION – CDA REACTS

“We have told the person who put this low deck on this street to remove it. This is an important road. He keeps on promising us to remove it but never does. If he doesn’t remove it, we will be forced to drag him to the police station” Explains the CDA2 tax force Mr. Femi.

“Do you know the person who abandoned the low deck? Kirikiri news asks.

“We don’t know his name but, He stays at Ilaje street and we will catch him when he goes to watch match or in the morning before he goes to work in the morning” answered Mr. Femi

The double lane Karimu road is a sensitive road. This is the road where tankers about to lift oil from

the many Depots in Kirikiri town ply daily. This road is also known for it’s full of life market activities. The low deck covered one lane thereby allotting only one lane where moving and waiting tankers utilize with caution.

The CDA2 president was not available at press time but a call was put through to the CDA1 president Mr. Sanni Abari who briefed Kirikiri news that the truck has actually dwelled on that road for a long time and is fast becoming a nuisance. “The Community Development Association Task forces are currently doing something about it” he said

When Kirikiri news visited the site, a tanker parked beside the abandoned low deck and it was only few inches away from the kiosk of a woman who vends tomato and pepper. There wasn’t any space for pedestrians.

“Whoever abandoned this thing here should remove it because it is obstructing my prospective customers, look! My customers cannot enter my shop and this thing makes this area accident prone” expressed a shop owner.

This low deck has caused dangerous traffic and has turned this place into a waste dumpsite. The low decks’ rear tires have lessened due to its long stay and the shop owners where the low deck obstructs are tired of complaining and have used its topmost as a display point.
