ALAAFIN OF OYO DONATES GARRI, RICE & CASH TO INDEGENTS

In the spirit of the Ra­madan, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III has donated assorted grains and cash to in­digent people of the ancient town.

The gesture was not lim­ited to Muslims alone, as Christians and adherents of other
religions also benefit­ed. Both rice and garri in large quantities were sepa­rately wrapped in poly­thene bags and given to ev­ery individual in the palace. Also, cash ranging from N1000 to N5000 was pack­aged with the foodstuff.

The royal donation which began last week Sat­urday will end on Sunday evening.
