Johnson close is located at the end of Johnson Street.
It lies at the western part of Kirikiri town. It shares a lone border with the
Nigerian Port Authority, with a fence as their demarcation. Johnson close
extends 420 meters until the end
which is a backyard fence of a house on Agunbiade
Street. A house which is jointly built to that fence elongates outward about 2 meters
thereby creating a slim entrance to the house beside it and to the gate at the
end of the close.
There is a gate leading to Agunbiade Street at the
end of Johnson close.
Johnson close is known for its loneliness and
secluded nature. It has a wide space in the middle. The middle of the close is
spacious in a way that every house in the close can view from any angle. The
wide space can be used for parking lots, parties and mostly, for playing
football.
One of the main symbolization's of Johnson close is
the wide space for playing football. Several street football tournaments have
been held on that space, one of which Johnson close team won a bronze medal.
The other is the Radha Govinda Temple. This temple
was officially established in 1997. They worship god using the Vedic Tradition.
Veda tradition originated from a group of ancient Indians called Verdi. They
are known as the Hare Krishna Movement. They are of Bardeen Vedic origin. That
temple is where the Hare Krishna Movement holds their worship sessions.
There are about 105 residents, 7 buildings and 1 business
outlets. Most of the houses are story buildings and about four are bungalows.
