CATHOLIC YOUTH’S RAISES NGN600000 FOR COSTUMES


The Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kirikiri town lobbied a whopping sum of NGN600000 in their annual youth program
aimed at promoting the Nigerian culture and fund raising for a cultural costume the organization intends to purchase.






The youths were full of beans and style as they entertained their guests with comedy from MC/Comedian fine boy with reason, aristocratic cultural dance from the CYON Cultural Dance Group graciously dressed in their beautiful blue Ankara costume and many other thrilling performances such as fire pirouetting and music.

The first runner up of the MTN project fame season six, Immaculate who sat behind the parish priest was radiantly present for the program in her cultural attire and she made a donation of NGN10000 in cash to support the catholic youth’s in which she belongs.

When speaking to Kirikiri news, the Kenyan parish priest Rev. Fr. Kioko commended the youth on their cultural day event and encouraged them to uphold their culture strongly.

“In my country Kenya, we have forgotten our culture and we tend to be more westernized. I am happy that the youth of Nigeria still uphold their culture and traditions and I encourage them to carry on” Rev. Fr. Kioko said.
The chairman of the day Chief Ikechukwu, CEO Day by day oil and gas also made handsome donations in conjunction with his oil and gas colleagues. Other donations were however made by invited guest.

The CYON executives made it clear that the money that was donated will be used for the purchase of their cultural costumes and for the welfare of the organization.
Hon. Akeem of PDP was also sighted at the event. It was an unusual sight.
“Do not throw your mother tongue away; the Whiteman will never throw his for yours” one of the invited guests advised the youths.
