KIRIKIRI BAALE RECEIVES AWARD

The baale of Kirikiri town Chief Waheed  Sumonu Agunbiade was bestowed an Award of Excellence by the Igunnuko Traditional Religion of Lagos State.

The event which took place at Junior Boy’s Academy, Lagos Island was
acknowledged to be a glamorous event by everyone in attendance.

The Oniru of Iru kingdom, HRH Oba Idown Abiodun and many others including Honourable Ibrahim Ajibola Abari, Councilor representing Ward D (Oriade LCDA) graced the occasion with their majestic presence.

The Traditional ruler was present with his many wives and children.

The traditional religion also organizes the Festival of Igunnuko Masquerades which originated from Central Nigeria. There is some magic to these masquerades. They can be as tall as 15 feet, and next minute be as short as two feet. They can roll on the ground like drums, or spread like sheets on the ground, all in one breath. Nobody understands how yet. You may have to see to believe!
