Walnuts may not come in attractive packs or boast of great flavor;
however, they are packed with many nutritional and medical benefits.
According to the experts, one only needs eat an ounce of walnuts a day,
which is about seven shelled walnuts, for one to take advantage of all the
cardiovascular benefits in this nut.
Chief dietitian and nutritionist, Dr. Agnes Uduoma, says a major
medicinal and nutritional advantage that walnut has over other nuts and many
foods is its good cholesterol and omega acid content, which, she adds, helps
reduce one’s risk of heart and cardiovascular diseases.
This property, she notes, makes walnut a widely recommended snack or
food for those who are obese or overweight and those that have already been
diagnosed with heart diseases.
