SOME GOSPEL ARTISTES ARE FAKE - AGNES ULUMMA AGOR (ADA JESUS) (FINAL PART)

Has your husband ever complained that you were not giving him adequate attention because of your career?
Honestly, no. He has never done that. I believe that in this life, God usually reserves a particular woman for a particular man and a man for a particular woman. I couldn’t have married a better man than my husband.
How many children are you blessed with?
God blessed us with five lovely children.
And you still look this youthful after five kids?
Don’t let my husband hear that o! (laughter). People usually scream when I say that I have five children. But remember that I’m Ada Jesus. So, it’s still part of God’s hands upon me.
How would you rate your career so far?
The encouragement supersedes the challenges. So, I would say so far so good.
Who is your role model in the industry?
I have about three role models in the industry. They include my mentor, Sister Vision Nwankwo; Sister Rosemary Chukwu and Evangelist Amaka Okwuoha. They are all popular gospel artistes.
As an up-comer, how prepared are you to contend with the challenges of being a celebrity?
I am aware of such challenges. But like I always say, they are not enough to make me kill my God-given talents. I believe the Biblical saying that with God all things are possible. The one who blessed me with the talent will always equip me with the needed grace for sustenance. I have heard that some artistes resort to juju (charms) and other sources of earthly powers for protection and to ward off temptations and the likes. But I don’t need juju for protection or anything. In God, there is everything, for those that believe.

There have been complaints that some gospel artistes are using subtle means to inject indecency, nudity and pornography into their music videos. What is your reaction?
You will never see such in my works. It is ungodly and condemnable to use God-given talent to deceive and mislead people. But such people should remember that evil doers will never go unpunished. However, you must also note that not all gospel artistes are into music for evangelistic intent. Many of them have neither the talent nor divine call to sing. Some people do gospel music as a means of survival, just as it obtains in other genres. For such people, you will never see any originality in their works. They only copy other people’s works. And when you watch their lifestyles, you will shudder. Gospel musicians should be like ministers of God – evangelists – and they must do everything to the glory of God. Everything about their career and lifestyles should be descent.
Have you been receiving romantic advances from men; I mean, have they ever tried to take advantage of you as a result of your tender looks?
If they have ever nursed such evil idea, I don’t know and I don’t care to know. I only know that the way you comport yourself, as a woman, married or not, determines how men will approach you. And as an artiste, although you can’t do without your fans, comportment also applies. The way you dress is the way you would be addressed. I’m married and the married should be faithful to their matrimonial home.
The End
