BOLD CARNIVAL’S YAMAYAMA NIGHT- ROCK-SOLID & IMPRESSIVE

The organizers of were very confident and sure of themselves even at conception and execution of strategies towards the event. They worked as a team. During the breads rising campaign, they applied distinctiveness to it and even on the day of the program they did the same.

There were lights installed on the street in a zigzag formation, chairs and tables were set on the two sides of the street thereby, letting the center serve as a walk way and there was a barbeque stand where chicken was grilled not forgetting the array of mobile businesses on ground – women selling drinks and food.

The Dj was on top of one stage while the performances were done on another stage as there were two separate stages for the show. DJ Trips was on the mix.

The Master of Ceremony made the show lively as he spoke multilateral lingua franca. He spoke using English, Chinese and Pidgin. When he introduced himself no one knew because he did it in Chinese – he said “wo de zhongguo mingzi shi Wuqi, buguo wo de pengyou jiao wo fedricx”. When asked by Kirikiri town family, he translated the meaning to be “my Chinese name is Wuqi but my friends call me fedricx”.

When Fedricx summoned Immaculate to the stage, there was uproar. She performed live in her very own street jam, the same street where she grew up. Everyone was so excited. This was one of the much anticipated performances which made parents stay outside until 2am. However, her performance amplified the altitude of the crowd and this led to the introduction of another much awaited act known as 2smart. His music further provoked the enthusiasm among the crowd. He wasn’t allowed to leave the stage after his time was due. The crowd wanted more.

Something unforeseen happened when the chairman of Skido Oil and Gas challenged female dancers at the event to a dance competition. He proposed a cash prize NGN5000 for any female dancer who dances best to Immaculate’s music. Immaculate herself conducted the voting process which was to be decided by the crowd. Joy (Agunbiade) and Nelly (Johnson) contested intensely but, Joy was preferred by the crowd. However, another confirmation was done by Fedricx which Joy again emerged winner before the Chairman was invited to present the prize. “They have both tried and the prize will be shared 60:40 between the winners” said the Chairman. Everyone valued the rational decision.

Other artistes who performed were Big blend, Baba Kirikiri, Mr. Cope, Tundee, Genesis, Sololo, SOJ, Naked, Activities, Fizzy, TC and a host of others.

Some foreigners believed to be from India and Bangladesh was live at the event.

Everyone in attendance was so organized. Law and order was appropriately observed. The CSO of the CDA 1 and his team were on ground to ensure concord.

“I swear na the best street jam be this” a participant said. “I have been selling in all the street jam’s in Kirikiri town, this one is the best.” Another said favorably. “Una try well well, I enjoyed myself” a participant all the way from Lagos Island said beneficially.
Awards were presented to some individuals: Baale Johnson which was presented to Adisa 1 and Apesin 1 which was given to Tokunbo . Kudos to Adisa, matthew Tokunbo and George Edache, they are the Organisers of the show.

Watch out for the next street jam!

Our motto remains…Upgrading Standards.
