POLICE ARRESTS DECEITFUL TANKER

Deceit, lies and false testimony are definitely not the surest ways to double-check smartness. Honesty is the best policy.

A JIBO Oil Investment tanker with plate number WEL-131-XL was arrested on the grounds of deceit and misleading by the police. The tanker driver and his assistant
explained that they came to lift oil product from one of the many Oil Depots in Kirikiri town axis of Lagos state. They had come from the northern part of Nigeria (Nassarawa state) and claimed to have been given a slot on the loading manifest/ program from the NUPENG staff.

The truck meandered its way until it arrived at the Alekotile Street junction adjoining Cardoso Street. While the CDA and NUPENG staff stationed at that junction requested their own copy of the loading order, the driver became wind-swept for words. After some routine checks, It was brought to his notice that according to the program his truck was to load at Bakare (Bakare is a depot where black oil (black diesel) is being loaded) and it had gone beyond its boundary.

It was clear to the CDA and NUPENG that something was not right. According to the NUPENG staff on ground, Mr. Razaq, he stated that the truck was on the program to load at Bakare and that the truck driver possibly used that as a means to bypass all protocols to lift oil from another Depot.

“We received report that this truck was supposed to load at Bakare but when it got to our check point it suddenly changed its mind to load at Swift Oil Depot, that was when we perceived a rat so we had to call the police because protocol has been broken” said Mr. Razaq

When the police arrived, the truck was arrested. One policeman was in the truck and the others used the police van to escort the tanker from behind. The truck was taken to the Kirikiri police station at Kirikiri town family way. The police men deflated the front tire and seized the truck’s plate numbers but they didn’t arrest the driver. The driver contacted the marketer which in turn was found making some calls.

The manager of Bakare Mr. Jelili rushed down to the scene angrily saying that he had already informed the office of the trucks arrival meanwhile they deceived him in order to load somewhere else. “You want me to lose my job?” He questioned. He left almost immediately as he arrived.

Kirikiri news gathered that the truck driver and marketer will have to settle with the NUPENG, Police and CDA before the truck will be released. The NUPENG have already threatened to transfer the case to their Headquarter union zone as this offence perpetuated by the tanker driver and his marketer is considered terrific and humorless.

The police told the driver and marketer that the case has been forwarded to the DPO’S desk and they should present themselves 19 hours later.

The police officer couldn’t speak with in detail Kirikiri news “The truck misled the NUPENG and it had been arrested, the DPO will brief you more” The officer said as he instructed his colleagues to enter the patrol van for a scheduled patrol.
