TALES FROM TIMES BEFORE (EPISODE TWO)

STORY SERIES
...“One thing is certain. We must not tolerate this abomination in our midst” a stout woman declared firmly, and they all agreed. Together, they called on Akinbo in his father’s house. “We demand that you remove yourself and your depravity from amongst
us. You and your household must leave this town!”

The hostility towards Akinbo and his mother was so bitter that he had no choice but to leave town. He went to set up house on his father’s farm, and he and his mother settled there. When everybody returned to their homes in town at the end of the day, Akinbo and his mother remained on their farm. “His farm is flourishing!” added another young man.
,
Eewo rubbed his receding chin with his skinny right hand, and then he demanded.
“What punishment did you people mete out for him for doing this abominable thing?”

“We drove him out of town! We ostracized him completely!” claimed some people simultaneously.

“No one has visited him and his family since,” contended others.

“Is that all?” Eewo demanded, searching the faces of the elderly men and women.

“Well, what else can we do? At least driving him from our midst demonstrated clearly that he would not tolerate that kind of perversity here,” an elderly woman argued.

“Humn,” mused Eewo. “It is because you look over a responsibility that was not yours in the first place that things have turned out the way they now have. If a… To be continued on Tuesday
