HUMAN HEART

On July 20 2012, James Holmes, a 24 year old doctorate student walked into a movie theater in Denver Colorado and opened fire on the defenseless crowd. His action left 10 movie goers dead and 58 others injured. This action was expectedly received with

anger and outrage by the global community. The question everyone asked was, “Why this gruesome murder of this innocent people?” Similar stories continue to be read on daily basis about innocent people falling victim of the cruelty of their fellow men.

Jeremiah in the passage above aptly described the condition of the heart of human beings. The natural man is deceptive and wicked. His capacity for committing crime is mind-blowing. The bible says “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”, the only thing that could change you, if you are a sinner, is acknowledgement of your iniquities, genuine repentance and total determination to forsake and turn away from all evils. After that you must accept Christ’s sacrifice for your sin, and recognize him as your savior.

Challenge: Purge yourself of every form of evil.
