Everyone knows that it is the ori, the portion, and the destiny that one brings from 



heaven that determines your life. Before leaving heaven, each individual kneels before Olodumare, the creator, and either chooses her destiny. A-kunle-yan, receives it A-kunle-gba, or has it affixed on her, A-yan-mo. whichever way one obtains it, the individual has her destiny conferred on her. While kneeling before Olodumare, Onibode confirms this same destiny as the individual makes her way out of heaven.

“What are you going to do there?” he asks again. She states everything that she is destined to do in the world. Those things recently conferred on her by Olodumare.

“May it all be as you say,” Onibode confirms. It is only then that she is permitted to leave heaven, but she promptly forgets everything when she touches the tree of forgetfulness” as she passes through the gate!

A person’s destiny, once conferred, is supposed to be unalterable. If she has chosen an unfavorable or a bad ori, or destiny, it should be unalterable.
