#BRING BACK OUR GIRLS –
KIRIKIRI COMMUNITY VOICES OUT
Thirty seven days after the
fundamentalist Islamic sect, Boko haram, abducted over 200 school girls from Government
Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State. Poignant protests all around the globe illustrates
how thought-provoking the issue of abduction and insurgency seems. However, they
have threatened to kidnap more pupils.
In conjunction with foreign
countries such as France, America, Britain, Israel and Canada
extending their
helping hand to search and rescue the abducted girls with manpower and
technology, there is hope for the people of Nigeria, hope for the families of
the abducted girls, and hope for the girls to return back to their families
alive.
Kirikiri town community,
located at the Southwestern part of Lagos State , Nigeria have joined the rest
of the human right groups, women groups and foreign sympathizers for the call
to rescue and return the abducted girls alive.
Kirikiri town is renowned
for exhibiting the largest security prison in Nigeria – Kirikiri Prison. This
prison has accommodated many convicted individuals regardless of their societal
idiosyncrasy. It is therefore recommended to tread carefully because the path
to the prison is wide.
The bring back or girls consciousness
in Kirikiri town was made possible by the Kirikiri town family group who
brought together little children, women, youths, community development leaders
and residents of the town to formulate in many worthy and benevolent standpoints
that Kirikiri town is not in support of terrorism, abduction, kidnapping and
bombings.
“I want to let Boko haram
know that we are not happy with all off their killing activities and we will be
waiting to welcome them into the prison very soon” a resident shouted.
“Boko haram have wronged
Nigerians, I feel for the families of the abducted and I assure them that
everything will be alright” a Muslim resident stated.
“I thank the organizers,
Kirikiri town family because now Nigerians and people all over the world will
know that we solidly partake of the anguish Boko haram have caused to the
nation and the family of the abducted children” A resident said.
