CHOCOLATE NIGHT – AJANLEKOKO VERSUS AJEGULE

Ajanlekoko Street is a street known for its undisturbed attitude. Their street jam portrayed exactly just the character they are thus identified by. Chocolate night was this year’s theme for the street jam.

This year’s street jam was the third edition of their show. Although their organizational
ability is still undergoing upgrading progression, the show was however considered a success.
There were side attractions such as board games and drinking spots. DJ Smile scratched all night.

The toggle for best performances between artists and dancers from Kirikiri town and those from Ajegule was however, what the stage was categorically used for. It was challenging. Invited artists from Ajegule dared Kirikiri town artiste’s both in dance and music. Although, initially, Ajegule topped the chart with Chicken boy, Jahbless and Allen b’s performances, not until the likes of Baba Kirikiri, Genesis, Big Blend, Omoalaja, School boy, 2 smart and a dancer simply named Ejike stormed the stage with their browbeat style to finally top the chart and also, make Kirikiri town proud.

The event wouldn’t have been a success without the support of Chief ‘Ahujale’. Others mentioned were Mama Timi and Big fish.

The street jam attracted guys from all over Kirikiri town and Ajegule. Considering its date to be the night before Christmas day, people hurried immediately after church services to the street. The stage was set few meters away from the Ajanlekoko junction.

The hit performances of the night were from 2 Smart, Big blend and Chicken boy as they received much more cheers from the crowd but something unforeseen happened during Big blends’ performance. Someone from the crowd sprayed big blend a foreign currency note. He was so excited as he showed everyone one after the other but didn't allow them touch it.

All effort to speak with the organizers of the Ajanlekoko street jam proved abortive.
Kirikiri town is a place where unimaginable positive things happen; we look forward to next year’s carnival. Watch out for the next street jam’s update.

Our motto remains…Upgrading Standards.
