NIGHT OF SWAGA - A STREET FIESTA

Agunbiade is divided into two by Cardoso Street. Every year they organize their street jam separately. This year 2013 wasn't different as they continued in their normal phenomenon.
The day started with the organizers soaking the street with water and then sweeping it from
start to finish. They also rented chairs and tables for guests. Literally every street had a table. This scenario reminded residents of Defunct PROWA COMPLEX - Umunede. The people were so busy enjoying themselves and believed they were at home.

The middle of the street was the passage way and the two sides were a long array of tables with chairs. The DJ stand housed DJ White, DJ Jb and DJ Felele. These are young upcoming DJ's from Agunbiade Street and they were the main highlight as that was the power house of the event. They played all night long.

The hair dressing shop (Perfect touch) technically opened till dawn as their frontage was used as the dance floor where people danced and danced and danced.

Side attractions were Snooker games, Scrabble, Card games. People were seen playing these games with the joy of the season, while others were busy selling their food and drinks. Many people drank to their fill as many were seen being carried home.

There was no performance by any artistes. The likes of Allen b, 2smart, Big blend, and many others were seen at the event but according the organizers, this year's street jam will be artiste performance free.

The concept of the street jam was unique as it can also be described as a party using the street as a hall. It can further be illustrated as a get together for all Kirikiri town people and also a home coming ceremony. Many posed when pictures were being taken while others frowned at it.

The street was filled up with people that anyone who passed by just want to know what is happening on the street.

Mr. Ernest who was the organizer of the event said that the event was the 3rd episode aimed to bring the people of Kirikiri town together and he was avoiding tediousness at the event. He wanted everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. He also thanked the Councilor and the Baale of Kirikiri town for their support.

Something unforeseen happened at 2:10 am, another was a guy putting on a G-string pant and was also sagging, but that didn't stop the fun and merriment.  Another unforeseen development was that the baale and his family all came out for the event including the Councilor. They were however, treated specially. This shows harmony and unity and support, Right?

“The program was nice, them hold am down and most of all we thank God for life. Many of us started together but didn't end together”. A resident explained.  “This kind thing for Kirikiri town, awesome”. A good looking lady said with content.

We look forward to next year’s street jam. Watch out for the next street jam
