WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE ROADS IN KIRIKIRI TOWN?

SHOKUMBI STREET IN KIRIKIRI TOWN
The question remains a thought-provoking irritating one and it daily ravishes the minds of residents, workers and the entire Lagosians. It further endangers economic and historic characteristic of the town. It reduces the reputation upheld by the area. that explains the increase in poverty rate.

It is a matter of utmost concern and worry where resident complain with bitterness but Kirikiri News sought to find out who should be held accountable for the unscrupulous and unhealthy conditions of the roads and drainages in Kirikiri town, a part of Ward D ORIADE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL.
It wasn't a diminutive move as many people assuming or holding elective, voluntary and indefinite positions in the Federal, State and Community level as well were asked.
The Baale - I am the head of the community and I have called upon the government to do something about the road but I can't phantom the delay in doing so.
The Councillor - I am only a legislator, I don't have the power to tile roads buy if I have my way I will make Kirikiri town a delightful paradise for all.
The LGA Chairman- We have received several complaint and petitions concerning the depraved state of the roads in Kirikiri town and we are working on grading some roads there as soon as the rainy season is over.
The Kirikiri Youth Forum (acting CDA, under youth presidents) - We are the youths of this great town and we don't like the way the roads are. We talked to the LGA about it and they promised to do something but we have seen nothing yet.
The Elder's CDA (under an Elder Chairman) - Our hands are tied because of the already resolved quarel between two giants. We hope that something will be done about it soon.
The Oil Depots - We have interlocked Cardoso road and working on doing the same for Karimu road. Our tankers use these two roads so we have been obligated to upgrade them as a part of giving back to the community. You dont expect us to interlock every road in Kirikiri town. Do you?
The companies in the Prison Barracks - We are under the prisons. It is so unfortunate that we cannot use the main prison gate at the front and have to use shokumbi street we can't do anything about the road. Talk to your government. Sorry!
The State Government - We issue allocations to the LGA and they also generate theirs. They should take care of it. We only work on state roads. those roads are not state roads.
The FG - We have knowledge of the federal roads in kirikiri town and FERMA is in charge of its maintenance. Has it not been upgraded?
Residents- We have on our own used debris to fill up our streets whenever we notice a hole. We are tired. We fear Kirikiri town may have been forgotten
Great people of kirikiri town you heard them, who else do we ask? or who do we grab by the balls and hold accountable for the apologetic ailment Kirikiri town road has been plagued with for decades.
Perhaps, the international community might just be the last resort.
However, Election period is around the corner. Old office holders will step down and new office holders will emerge.
It is with deep regret and cognizance of past fatal jaw-shifting-eye blackening-nose breaking-ear deafening-teeth removing 'blows' or rather punches that we all must vote wisely.
I drop my pen to save some ink for better future development write-ups.
