WE NEED A COACH – KIRIKIRI BASKETBALL STARS

In Kirikiri town there are a lot of basketballers most especially youths who have love for the game. In spite of their numerous and unexploited skills, they still play together even without a professional coach. They were intelligent enough to at least arise with a name
called Kirikiri bombers and they are about 38 in number.

The basketballers have a court which they use for their training sessions mostly every Saturday morning. This basketball court is located inside the Prison barracks (not inside the prison) right beside the football field. The court was slightly fixed up for the reason that a match was to be played in honor and last respect to late Bob Padei who was rated the best basketballer in Kirikiri town and a great basketball star and icon.

One of the new fixed things was the board and rim. However, the inscription on the board stated clearly “NO DUNK”, when asked by Kirikiri town family; the captain, Elisha said “it was written no dunk because many of us might dunk and pull down the rim; moreover some of the learners among us don’t know how to dunk”.

The match was successful as there was an opening prayer uttered by Atine, not forgetting the popular one minute silence. The game lasted for 2 hours. They all financially tasked themselves unsympathetically to see that they do something for their lost one.

Every Saturday people come from Navy town, Ajegule, Mile 2 to play basketball in Kirikiri town. Be part of them today.

Our motto remains…Upgrading Standards.
