“This place is an eyesore. Come; look at people’s shit all over the place, look at dirt everywhere. And also this truck have been lying here for over one year and nothing has been done about it even though complains have been made to the owner to remove it” said a resident who lives on number 21 Johnson street, Mr. Christian Eubany.
Adding to that Mrs. Victoria
Okechukwu said that “The people who make sure of this mess are the boys and
girls who go to Juliana hotel. Several times they stay there before and after
the hotel closes for the day to smoke and drink and make noise.”
When Kirikiri news visited
the site, it was no different from the testimonies by the residents. It was
also evident that the trailer had parked there for some time and it served as a
well-grounded barricade door to the gutter behind that has turned into a
latrine.
The management of the hotel
denied the claim saying that they don’t know the folks that defecate in the
gutter or even who parked the truck there and furthermore it does not disrupt
their business activities.
There are several damaging
social conducts that affect not just individuals but the entire community in
the many aspects; environment hygiene and health, security, noise pollution and
several others. Members of the citizenry are advised to care for their
surroundings and health as these are much valuable topics of concern.
