"KIRIKIRI TOWN DON TIRE ME"- RESIDENTS SPEAK (PART 4)

"KIRIKIRI TOWN DON TIRE ME"- RESIDENTS SPEAK
By Okechukwu Uchechukwu Daniel

…A stern look at the lifestyle will only let you understand that the youth are more or less devastated with the kind of life they find themselves living. Many will blame it on their parents saying “if they couldn’t achieve, then who am I to achieve, I just live life as it comes. Laziness makes an engraving mark on the youths. Just like Vybes cartel will say in one of his hit tracks, Holiday; ‘Nobody goes to work, nobody goes to school; that might just be the case. In all of these, the youths still hope to make millions just like Joe Tega Gift of Joe Tega Global Investment someday.

Hatred, jealousy, envy and frustration clouds their minds whenever a youth tries to be creative. Preposterous!!!
The older youth will only fight for their pockets and intimidate any younger youth who tries to cross his path because he has a family to take care of. One would think Kirikiri town is a jungle where stronger lions prevail but reverse is the case. Financially, stagnation overrules the youth’s creativity in Kirikiri town.

A youth once said that he would like to set up a business venture but his parents has no money to finance his venture and he has no relative too. He decided to keep his dreams and aspirations to himself and wait until God opened his doors. Frustration set in because he was needy and dead low on cash even to feed. His age climbed and whenever certain jobs came up, he would say “This is a job for a younger person, can’t you see my mates are now driving cars?”. He missed so many opportunities. Only if he followed his dream passionately, a helper might just be around the corner watching.

One needs to make good use of his youth to avoid stories that touch in the future. Old men in Kirikiri town only let you know about their deed when they were young but there is actually nothing to show for it because these deeds weren’t something they would fall back onto now that they are aged.

In 2015, we hope to see more business empires set up rather than shops everywhere. I believe petty shops serve a certain service in the society but many of them lack vehemence for growth because they weren’t only set up as a backup plan for aiding family survival but a way to keep themselves from daydreaming of current circumstances.

A business that has a driven focus and hopes to succeed in a specific period of time is worth sacrificing a lifetime only if properly managed. The government even has a certain allocation for large, medium and small business scale companies/ organizations (SME’s) for registered businesses.

Large established business corporations in Kirikiri town such as Coscharis Group, Sarafoam LTD and many others should support serious upcoming establishments to enhance the living standard of the people… to be continued tomorrow
