These competitions are all grassroots tournament aimed at improving and promotion talent. The Mock Nation’s Cup is currently ongoing and the team is at the quarter finals stage. The present councilor hasn’t organized any tournament. The former hosted one and is he was

said to be a sports lover. There was a sports festival organized by the local government and Kirikiri teams won several medals in table tennis and football in that festival. The team has also participated in the Lagos State Junior League.

The first coach of the club was Coach Rogers alias Yetete, Coach Paul is now a sports correspondent with African independent television (AIT), he was the second coach of the club. Coach Mohammed took up the mantle of leadership of the club in 1993. He has been piloting affairs of the club with the aid of some notable community members. Coach Mohammed is also the special assistant to the Chairman of Oriade Local Government on sports.

Players such as Christopher Eboh whom is now in South Africa, Kabongo Emeka who plays with a club in Iran, Danladi Isa, the goal keeper of Sharks United now with of Union Bank Team, Ismailia Isa, a goal keeper with first bank team, Christopher Eze and others who currently play in notable clubs.

Finance, sponsorship and support by various organizations in Kirikiri town are the major challenges the club faces. None of them have however, tried to host any tournament.

The clubs actually pays for the usage of the field and they pay through their noses yet still on strict rules and regulations said the coach. We tax ourselves for sustenance.

Chinedu Maribe, who is the president of the Kirikiri all stars and Mr. Dominic Chukwu Mouja are the current sponsors of the club are some noteworthy members of the community.

Kirikiri town is full of talents that need to be exploited. Most of them start from 15 years to maturity. They cannot be left alone, they need to be exploited. I have passion for talents.

I use more of psychology. Make them believe and know that in the field of play all men are equal. In my team there is no best player. No one is Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.
