SOLAR POWERED STREETLIGHTS IN KIRIKIRI TOWN

The adage which says, a patient dog eats the fattest bone. It simply means whoever imbibes the good culture of exercising patience will definitely reap good benefits. Obviously, in life there is real benefit in having patience.

Many people dispute that proverb or perhaps relate it to only dogs; however, they only choose to be ignorant of its meaning and application to life.

Kirikiri town being a humble abode with patience as its first characteristics is beginning to enjoy its benefit of being patient. First it was the interlocking of the busiest street in Kirikiri town (although not yet completed) to the smoothing of another major road which leads to the Nigerian Prisons Service Training College Barracks and also to navy town, now it is the installation of Solar Panel street lights.

This new development surprised almost all the residents of Kirikiri town (except those who knew about its conception) as they woke up to see a new standing structure at the side of the interlocked Cardoso road. However, some others witnessed its installation which commenced on Thursday, 31st October at 5 pm in the evening and before the end Friday, 1st of November the project have extended its reach from bustop to Cardoso street and Karimu street.

The solar panel street light which is already functioning perfectly well are about 20 pieces. They are stretched 20 meters away from each other from bustop further down to Johnson street junction and from bustop further down to some meters close to Ajanlekoko Street respectively.

It may be the first phase of installation. Will there might be a second phase soon?. We will soon know.

At this juncture, this update might not be comprehensive enough without mentioning the brain behind this wonderful development. One clue, There is no standard road construction without street light beside for effective night vision. Anyways, it is too early to give credits because the work is still in progress.

Street light will unquestionably intensify the commercial activities and night life of Kirikiri town residents, residents will feel safer to walk the street at night even if we all know that criminals do not exist in Kirikiri town except in the prison yard, therefore, the street lights do not reduce criminal rate.

How do you feel about the street light? A resident was asked, he said “this is amazing, I never will believe that there will be street light in Kirikiri town it is a lie, street light? Not even bulb but solar, this is a miracle, another resident simply named Chioma said with content while some others expressed their outright approach saying that this is just something that ought to be done. An aged woman was busy singing in Yoruba ‘ese o Jesu’ which means thank you God.

Kirikiri town is upgrading its standard beyond reasonable doubt on a daily basis. The ongoing projects will have to be completed so that final gratitude will be specified to whom it is due.
