ST JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH’S FREE HIV TEST

No one can know his Human Immune Virus (HIV) status by mere assumption it is a must that you have to check it. This process is called HIV test. This is carried out using some medical instrument and only one or two drops of your special blood.
The St. Joseph Catholic Church Kirikiri town conducted a rally to create awareness on HIV testing today being 30th of November 2013. This however, involved over 20 vibrant youth members of the church. They were seen playing drums and singing gospel music loudly on several streets. This campaign drew the attention of residents to check their HIV status.
Although many feared to check for, reasons best known to them while others proceeded into the mini-bus which was parked on Cardoso Street for immediate testing. Although, no one was reported to be in proprietorship of the deadly virus - from the statistics of all who have checked - medicines were however available if found positive. This exercise is a commendable one as St. Joseph Catholic Church has long embarked on a mission to defend Kirikiri town medically. They also run a maternity clinic for nursing mothers and they attend to a number of medical cases.

The guys and ladies displayed their actual essence of youthfulness by dancing jumping and singing. Many of them carried written captions that stated “educate others to achieve a HIV free generation. It begins with you” others stated thus “abstinence is the best”. “Love and live free with those living with HIV” was what was written on one of the captions a youths held. This is a virtuous advice.

We urge resident to come out amass to check their HIV status. You could still go to the premises of the St Joseph Catholic Church, off Dillion Street, Kirikiri town to perform a test. It is free of charge.

Our motto remains…Upgrading Standards.
