"KIRIKIRI TOWN DON TIRE ME"- RESIDENTS SPEAK (PART 3)

"KIRIKIRI TOWN DON TIRE ME"- RESIDENTS SPEAK
By Okechukwu Uchechukwu Daniel

…More and more aware and informed of activities in the town, some returned home as observers, many others returned permanently while some still stand at ease on the borders of Kirikiri town confused or rather skeptic.
He that says his mother will not sleep will not sleep also. But them that say the earth under Kirikiri town must awake to the much anticipated changes required will not sleep too until the cause is achieved.

According to a publication on vanguard newspaper stating the end of the cold war and also a full report on the November edition of Kirikiri News newspaper magazine stating the same end of the waging war in September 2014, leadership peace was restored back to the community legally.

If we must recap 2014 briefly, there were about 5 set of bodies advocating for change, peace and progress that achieved great deeds, their names and top major deeds will be pointed out.

THE OIL DEPOT ASSOCIATION (completion of Cardoso road)
THE ELDERS FOUNDATION (reconciliation of the cold war) THE KIRIKIRI YOUTH FORUM (establishing of 3 community offices)
KIRIKIRI NEWS MEDIA (coverage, documentation and publicizing Kirikiri town to the world for free)
ORIADE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL DEVELOPMENT AREA (Renovating 6 classrooms in the government owned oldest primary school in Kirikiri town; Local Authority School)

However, there are other deeds, other bodies and individuals who stood up to partake in the fight for change and development of Kirikiri town.
Entering 2015, what do we hope to see?

This year holds a remarkable history in the entire Nigerian nation in terms of politics. We shall all be on a thumb printing spree for a candidate we know nothing about except for only tales of what we have heard him do and memories of what we have seen him do.

God-fatherism, nepotism, hypocrisy and other ‘isms’ and ’isys’ have always been the bone of contention in the utterances of the proletariat whenever it comes to all levels of voting aspirants into an elected office. But what else could they say?
The politics in Kirikiri town is monotonous as almost all the party members aspire to run for the lowest office in the LGA’s cadre and leaving the highest office to other members because they so much believe in the half-bread-is-better-than-full-puff-puff (tots) adage. This however brings down the standard of the community as it may never produce the head but the tail as usual.

Who should be the appropriate head of affairs in the Kirikiri town community when anyone believed or assumed is called upon denies responsibility just as peter denied Jesus Christ three times before the cock crowed. This denial is a major setback to the development of any community because there is no use of incumbent office for potent change, progress and development.

Companies, organization and bodies need to work with each other simultaneously for a collective goal of development. The media is an inevitable usable tool to bring change and development. Information, notices and future plans should be passed across through the media because accountability and competence will be ensured constant in every message and doings.

Last time I checked, media shy individuals pilot the boats of affairs in Kirikiri town preferring to leave everything in secret even their occasions, campaigns and events maintaining the notion; ‘If you weren’t there, you missed it for life and don’t worry, hear-say will inform you’. …to be continued tomorrow
